Dealing with vendors has been a major hassle and it’s an important source of in-game revenue for everyone. This change completely eliminates that hassle and will make managing, moving, and replacing vendors very easy. The only small issue I can see is the ability to use your vendors to easily sort your items for sale (i.e. put weapons in one vendor, armor in another, complete with signs) will be gone. In practice though, I think most of us just ignore reading the signs anyway and you can still sort using your Pip-Boy tabs. Alongside the arrival of Legendary Crafting, we’ve also revisited our lineup of Legendary Attributes to add some new ones, and give a tune-up to a few that already existed. Give some of the new and updated Legendary Attributes a test run using your existing items, or by making them using the Legendary Crafting system. Like weapons and armor, Legendary Power Armor pieces can also be upgraded, downgraded, and re-rolled. Applying a Legendary Upgrade to a normal item will turn it into a legendary version of that item, with 1, 2, or 3 randomly assigned legendary attributes, depending on the tier of Legendary Upgrade you applied.
While this might not offer the “switch on the fly” functionality that many are accustomed to with the Perk Loadout mods, I still think this is huge. No longer will different play styles be a major commitment of time to achieve, you’ll be able to do it instantly. The first of four major updates in 2021 adds another C.A.M.P. slot for all players and new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. loadouts. As I discussed in my last blog, I think everyone understands the need to limit players to one active CAMP.
Vending Machines now feature a large pool of item slots that are shared for every instance across all your C.A.M.P.s. Display Cases will be separate per C.A.M.P., allowing you to showcase different items at each one. Any C.A.M.P. equipped with at least one vending machine will have the green vendor icon underneath the C.A.M.P.’s map marker. Other players can move the cursor over the map marker to see a short overview of item types and amounts that are for sale. The amount of caps the seller receives from any sold item is always 90% of the price the item was sold for. Items that can be sold range from weapons and armor, with or without legendary effects on them, to apparel, consumables, aid, junk, ammo, or miscellaneous items.

In addition to weapons and normal armor, Legendary Crafting can also be used to create pieces of Legendary Power Armor. Visit Weapon and Armor Workbenches, and then open the Modify menu to get started with Legendary Crafting. Using a new crafting component, calledLegendary Cores, along with a fewLegendary Modules, you can now craft “Legendary Upgrades” for your items. Steel Reign’s questline is available to any player over level 20 who has completed “The Best Defense”.
When you find a new location that you want to build a C.A.M.P. in, though, you’ll have to deactivate your current C.A.M.P.. Instead of the base being deconstructed, you’ll still be able to see it on the map. The only difference is that the C.A.M.P. won’t appear in the game world because it’s been deactivated. Select the desired item from this menu, and then select the option to “Activate Camp.” Bear in mind that this will activate the C.A.M.P. in the area you’re currently in on the map. Don’t try to activate a C.A.M.P. if you want it to be built somewhere other than your immediate vicinity.
